More than romance, I’ve learned to see Valentine’s day as a celebration of self-love.
How will you celebrate YOU this year? Tell us! 🙂

My dh is out of town so I went shopping after work. I didn’t really buy anything in particular but I took my time and didn’t rush around as if someone was waiting on me (which is how I feel when dh goes with me). It was quite a pleasurable shopping experience.
Tomorrow I’m going to go in to work and just do things at my own pace. I’m doing some rearranging and putting up shelves and I’ll be able to clean as I go and make the office like I want it.
After that, I plan to come home and take a hot jacuzzi bath followed by an all-over lather in lotion and putting my pajamas on for the rest of the day. I’ll probably watch a movie or relax with a book. The evening will be “all about me”.
What are your plans?
Me? Plan stuff? You realize you’re talking to AngryGrayRainbows right? 😛 😀 Teee heeee…
Okay, so I do have a few things in mind…
On my last day of work and the day after, I was pretty much living on various forms of chocolate and doughnuts. My body is tired of it and I’m actually craving baby carrots… so, one thing I’m going to do today is make sure I get lots of different kinds of food, so I don’t feel malnourished. But, ya know… it’s v-day and I’m also thinking about chocolate lava cake! Yum!
Like you said, I want to keep things at my own pace. I plan on lounging on the couch a lot and reading my books. Maybe I’ll trot off to the gym where I can sit in a nice hot jacuzzi and soften up these muscles of mine.
Richard and I are planning on going on some kind of date today, so I’m going to suggest this awesome Italian restaurant we both love. I could really go for some pasta!
Otherwise, as it is v-day, I plan on reminding myself all day long how much I love myself. Even if it’s just stopping whatever I’m doing, taking a few deep breaths and thinking about how I appreciate me.
Oh yeah… and naps. Lots of naps. 😀
The Hubby has to work today, but it SNOOOWED last night! So after he goes to work, I’m going to go to Garden of the Gods and take pictures and just look at the lovely veiws.
Then I’m going to make myself some fabulous new jewelry!
Bronwen,
I looked up Garden of the Gods in Wiki… OMG… you lucky girl! If you’re cool with it – send pics! 😉
Valentine’s Day was lovely! As usual, nothing went as I had only vaguely planned.
We went for a long drive and had a good talk. I read a lot. We watched the Simpson’s on DVD and had good laughs.
My favorite thing was FINALLY cracking the code of my gray cat. He hasn’t seemed to like me very much for almost 2 years now. I discovered yesterday that he needs to be pet very slowly. Sheesh. Now, he seems ridiculously happy and has been sitting in my lap a lot. 😀 He was able to get along really well with my boyfriend until I finally had my breakthrough, so at least he’s had at least one human to love… but it’s pretty great to have made peace with the first cat I ever adopted. Yayyyyyyyyy!!!
