I love House. Sure, the lead character is some kinda psycho, but the show often makes me think… and I love that.
The last episode was about a priest with some mystery disease killing him. House (main character) has conversations with the priest about faith and religion. House is a die-hard atheist and likes to challenge those who are not. Anyhoo… at somepoint House says, “Religion is the placebo of the massses.” Maybe I messed that quote up, but the message is still the same. (let me stop right here to remind everyone that religion, spirituality or atheism bashing on this blog isn’t going to see the light of day… that is not the point of this post anyway… 😉 )
Regarding religion being a placebo, I don’t know or even care to explore that. I’m not a religious person, but I am a very spiritual one and I feel like I’ve analyzed and re-analyzed my choices enough for now. I’m at peace with where I’m at and quite happy with it.
However, the placebo idea… I likes it! Let’s change it up, shall we?
Diets are the placebo of the masses.
Hmmm… maybe opiate fits better, because opiates actually can cause big health problems and so can diets. Ah well, so much for a pure exchange for Religion to Diets. 😉
The yeti offers much wisdom. And, so proclaimed the yeti from the mountain top:

While our dear yeti guru-ji is holding fruits and veggies, AGR is not against healthy eating. My take on my lovely yeti is that he doesn’t want a restricted diet of only plant foods – as opposed to a balanced diet containing all foods and with no external restrictions. 😉
You go, yeti.
I LOVE that Yeti! He’s adorable! And the House quote was orginally from Marx (“religion is the opiate of the masses”).
Ahhh… thank you for that lil info nugget! I love to know stuff like that. 😀
I’m glad you like the yeti. Hehehehehe. I wish I could get a big plush toy made of him. He makes me smile.
