Try to ignore my greasy hair, k?
It never fails that when I really want to eat or go to sleep or something… that some cat will nest in my lap and make it some big guilt-trip for me to leave the chair or the couch or whatever. My dear tabby (pictured above) settled in my lap as soon as I decided that I was way exhausted and that it was bed time. The picture captures an attempt of mine to gently move him off of my lap without offending him too much. Of course… my attempts to move him just caused him to do even cuter things… like lay back in my arms and purr loudly while putting two adorable paws on my forearm. Gah. Infernal cuteness!!! How I ever get anything done with four snuggly cats in my apartment, I will never know… Do you see that amazing little rust belly… OMG…. ridiculously cute!
Moving on to whale shapes…
Above, Abi is demonstrating what me and the boyfriend lovingly call “whale shapes.” A whale shape is a position that can make a cat look fatter than they prolly are in reality with the addition of teeny looking paws that look like front fins… hence, “whale shapes” or “whale position.” Ironically, one of my thinnest cats makes whale shapes the most often of all the cats… but, I decided to use the rare Abi whale shape photo to demonstrate as she is less likely to open her eyes or start rolling around in flirtation at the sight of a camera focused on her like my other cat does. 😛 Doesn’t she have the most perfect little “fin” paws???????? I…. think………… I’m………. having………… a………………..cuteness…………………………. seizure!!! Gahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

LOL!!
I miss my cat even though she got in the way of self pleasure…
:-~
lol 😛
“One of my thinnest cats” = *heeheehee!* I don’t know why that makes me giggle….your cats are very handsome!
I lost my great cat last year (old age) and had always tried to “beef him up” during his life and get him to gain weight…alas! My cat had a natural athletic build and fantastic metabolism (Siamese) so he remained svelte, until he became really ancient (16-18 yrs old!) and then he was frail and thin. I loved him the same.
How is it that a cat’s BELLY has this magnetic pull that makes a person want to nuzzle it and bury one’s face in that softest, warmest, furriest cat-part? And how is it that most cats do NOT want their bellies messed-with? How many times did I go to nuzzle my face in my cat’s fluffy tummy, only to get raked in the cheeks with his sweet little claws?
I have a new cat on the way…a handsome F1 Bengal kitten…we’ll see how it goes with the tummy-nuzzlin’.
* ; )
Man… you lucky duck. I wish I had some Bengals… me and the bf are both allergic to cats and apparently Bengals are hypoallergenic.
Cat tummies are pretty amazing. One day I was trying to piss Howard (the tabby pictured in this post) off, so he’d get out of my lap, so I could eat lunch…. so I put my hand on his big fluffy tummy (which offends most cats that I have ever known)………… the little jerk started purring and curled into an even cuter position. I swear, he is impossible to offend. Argh.
