Hey, Girls!!!
Don’t have a whole lot to contribute and I may be a bit late on the following subject. But have you seen this?
http://www.fitsugar.com/2578949
I am one for watching what I eat and whatnot and I’m not gonna get into b/c I realize this is not the place to do so. I just think it’s kind of funny and ridiculous. What’s with those lyrics? How is that “empowering” which is the word the “song”writer uses to describe the music.
I don’t know, it’s good for the lulz, though.
‘Scuse me while I go write “empowering” songs on being carless, living in my Mom’s house and fighting off my HIGHLY emotionally unstable and severely abusive brother…
You are right… lulz indeed… sheesh… are we that thin obsessed that we need “thin song” playlists to further brainwash us into body hate and food restriction.
I got an idea. 😉 How about a song about people of all sizes loving themselves and living a great life and not letting the body hate the media is constantly droning at us get them down!
My song list of “loving yourself and others no matter the size” (which makes for a long playlist title….I’ll have to think of something craftier later) DEFINITELY includes the following:
Sex Bomb
Joy to the World (Three Dog Night)
Love is a Wonderful Thing (Michael Bolton – [I KNOW but don’t laugh, it always makes me smile!])
The Best Damn Thing (Avril Lavigne)
….hmmm I find I’m actually compiling a playlist now LOL. Well thanks for the fun new project!! 😀
Wheee!! Did you take their little “quiz” at the bottom? I voted NOT COOL! and guess what? So did 74% of the other voters!! It made me giggle!!
Seriously? For one thing ZOMG those lyrics are horrible!! I am of the mindset that people should be fined for rhyming things like love, dove, above (body and hottie?) gag!
And finally – how the hell are those inspiring? That’s like using anorexic pictures for motivation. give me a fricking break. people will shill anything won’t they?
On a slightly more fun note 🙂 Rather than buying dumb “Skinny” CD’s – I bought fun stuff!!
Tich NhatHanh – Mindful Movements
I love the beautiful pictures of happy people of every size and color!!
and
Om Deeksha
A Great cd of chants and groovy music. Way more motivating than skinny jeans.
My post about self image vs. imagined self. I didnt solve anything, but its got me working on it. of course i am not as far as you – i still focus on my flaws…seeing them as flaws.
