Here at AGR, we have some very exciting news! 😀 Two have become three! WellRoundedType2 is joining Sassy and I to post regularly. Whooo hooooo!!
For some time, I’ve been thinking about adding another voice to the blog for the sake of post diversity and frequency and I am very happy to have one of my favorite bloggers on board at AGR! Now, I will let WRT2 introduce herself…

WellRoundedType2 here, to answer the question: What am I doing here?
What I’m doing here is that I had been thinking maybe I needed a little internet vacay. Maybe I was spending too much time online. And wondered, how can I send a message about this without it sounding like “flounce?” And then, AGR sent me an email via my blog, inviting me to blog here, and I couldn’t say no. Instead of a vacation, I took on another job.
Over time, this has become a favorite blog, as I’ve evolved and this blog has evolved. I have noticed a few blogs on the fatosphere feed that are in the territory between a personal journal and an editorial column, and my writing seems to belong in this group. I ended up feeling inspired by other bloggers who were trying to deeply, honestly explore their feelings about being fat (or at least not thin), trying to reject the mainstream media’s usual depiction of beauty, and searching for an authentic way of living in their bodies. As PhD Coachy once observed, I’m on a shared path with others learning to look at our bodies with compassion.
I was also inspired by the very personal, conversational tone of the writing here, and elsewhere, and as anyone who knows me in person knows I’m a talker. I write like I talk. It’s not perfect, I know. But I’m realizing that if I require perfection before I act, I will remain a reader and never a writer.
I will continue to post on my own blog from time to time, when the subject matter is less on the spiritual side, and more on the political side or some other side I haven’t figured out yet, but just feels right.
AGR and Sassy Blonde know each other well, and I’m a newer addition, so I’ll be learning how this works as I go. I’m really honored to join these two wise, brave women, and hope I add to the community with my own brand of honesty and bravery.
For those of you who maybe haven’t read me before, here are a few words that could be used to describe me (not in order of importance, which changes moment to moment): Fat, Jewish, short, curly-haired, brunette, white, middle-aged (yikes! but true!), mom of a biracial child, wife, sister, daughter, adult child of an alcoholic, survivor of child peer abuse, dancer, singer, actress/comedian, person who has type 2 diabetes (but it doesn’t have me!) and really fucking adorable.
I’m a work in progress. But the most important thing I know about myself is this:
There’s nothing wrong with me.
At least nothing that isn’t just part of being human. I hope you’ll take from this that there’s nothing wrong with you, either.
