This sign cracks me up…
In the spirit of trying to cheer myself up today, I got Abi (my fat cat) a special car seat for fur-children… so she’ll be able to see out the window without trying to sit in my lap while I’m driving or trying to wedge herself on the dashboard. 😉 Hopefully she’ll like it.
Ramblings anyone?

The weather in my hot and humid state has been lovely the past few days. Highs in the low 80s with low humidity. ‘Been getting some use out of my back patio!
Hey Sas, I think we got your humidity (at least on an intermittent level) here in California. I’ve lived in the SFBay Area all my life, and I’ve never had so many muggy, soggy days in summer.
Please take your humidity back. I’ll send cookies.
They make car seats for cats? That’s awesome! Link?
Technically they are car seats for dogs… out of my four cats, I only have one that likes the car and the view out the window enough to actually sit in a car seat. Here are the ones that sell at my fav pet store: http://www.petsmart.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=3245549&sr=1&origkw=car%20seat
The one I bought is this one: http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2753852
I will be testing out Abi in the new seat in 15 minutes when I go pick up hubby from the metra. 😉
This morning, I took Abi out to Lake Michigan to see how and if she liked it. She LOVED it… and she also obviously loved the drive over there… so she now has a new car seat, so she can better enjoy drives and a new harness (to go with her leash) for safety at the park, in case she wants to run after a duck or something. She found the pigeons and ducks just FACINATING…
Abi totally loved the car seat! LOL Best cat ever.
That is so cool!
I’ve got ramblings. I’m reading Health At Every Size. I’ve read the first half and am stuck because I have major resistance to the second half.
This feels like diet territory to me. Perhaps I’m just not in the right place for it yet. As a result of what I’ve read so far I am trying to add things to my diet, mainly fruit and fibre. I’m still allowing myself other stuff, like chocolate but I suppose I’m far more conscious of eating it. Every bit of my self-preservation is protesting this attempt at increasing my health through food.
So, when does adjusting your eating become a diet? When you force yourself to eat something you don’t really like? Or is it just when you stop eating what you do like? Or is it when you focus on your food and plan based on external knowledge (in this case like the fibre content of apples)? Can you live an OO approach and combine it with a HAES approach?
Any thoughts anyone?
