I’ve been wanting to put up some list or such of random life things that I’m happy about.
Last night I went to the beach and sat on a big rock and watched the water. I also watched the dogs. I was sitting right in front of a dog beach. The french bulldog was adorable fetching a ball from the water over and over.
My house plants that I recently bought are flourishing! Flourishing I tell you!! My old cacti are also looking better with the added cactus vitamins to their waterings. Whooo hooooo!
I bought myself this great owl toy. As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to have it. He’s almost all black… with these intense eyes and a big orange uni-brow. Hehehehehe. The look on the owl’s face always makes me smile. Right now I have him sitting on the coffee table, so he can inspire my smiles all day long.
I got this awesome vegetarian cookbook that I love. It assumes you don’t know anything about cooking – which is exactly what I need. Yay! Today, I’m going to attempt preparation of fried rice. 😀
My birthday is in two weeksish. Yay!
Over the weekend, hubby and I took Abilene to the park. She wore her pretty pink harness and her blue leash. She loved getting scritches from all the people surprised to see a cat on a leash at the big lake park. When we brought her home, she slept like a tiny, fuzzy, happy rock.
Abi loves her car rides so much that I’ve been dreaming of some kinda plush crowbar to peel her out of the car once we get home… cuz she never wants to get out of the car! She’s a very weird little cat girl.
I haven’t had disturbing nightmares in at least a week and a half so far, since I quit the anti-depressant that was causing them in the first place. Whooo hooooo! I’m also sleeping far more soundly at night, which is a huge relief. I can even tolerate sleeping in the same bed as my husband. Previously, due to that med, his every nightly breath could keep me awake. Hah.
If anyone else wants to list the good stuff in their life, have at it! The comments are yours. 🙂

Happy things…
It’s raining. I know you would love it AGR! I don’t so much like rain but we need it. I could’ve definitely stayed in bed all day today.
I was off Friday and did absolutely nothing! It was wonderful!
Saturday was a great day for football!
My fur child’s infected paw is healing and he’s doing great!
Watched a couple of episodes of True Blood this weekend. Pretty cool show. Rented the movie Death Race and it was better than I thought it would be.
One of the morons I work with has decided it would be better for him to retire than for us to continue the internal affairs case we have against him. (smart move dumbass!)
Fixed chicken fajitas last night and they were wonderful!
Hope someone else has some good stuff to share!
I’m starting a salsa dancing class tonight – yay!
I’m also reviving the local Spanish conversation meet-up group and have had a lot of interest 🙂
Speaking of which, I got in touch with an old friend again who happens to be a member of the Spanish group, and who I hadn’t seen or spoken with in several years 🙂
I’m also about to start lunchtime Tai Chi with some friends
I have an awesome bike ride to work, through a park with lots of ducks and people jogging with dogs.
I’m also starting the Couch-to-5K program. My knees kinda hurt, so it’s not an unqualified “good thing” right now, but I do feel a lot more energetic – and I was able to bounce up the stairs to my office this morning 🙂
Oh yeah, and picking up the guitar again, too
I had some amazing chocolate peanut butter fudge ice cream at the boutique ice cream shop around the corner from my house yesterday – yum!
All of that, on top of real food that doesn’t necessarily involve rice and beans (after a year and a half on the Central American rice-and-bean-diet) makes for one happy viajera! 😛
It is great hearing good things about others’ lives. Sometimes we need to be reminded that there are many good things in this world, in addition to the bad things that can happen.
Someone who I considered a friend insinuated in an online post that I am a racist. I’m not – but I am proud of my ability to take anger and make it become CONSTRUCTIVE power instead of destructive power ( read blog at http://tinyurl.com/oyts23).
My dog had a lump on his belly. I took him to the vet, and it turned out to be a fat tumor. It isn’t harmful, or even uncomfortable for him. He’ll get more, but they won’t hurt him!
My husband’s new schedule allows him to be home every night. Yippie!
I got a new easel for my birthday:

WOOHOO! Can you believe that it was sitting in my friend’s garage just collecting dust?
I am praying more often and becoming more introspective.
I am going to the farmers market now, and I always have plenty of veggies on hand. I’m eating healthy, ya’ll!
I’m singing to music, and dancing now even!
Life is good….Celebrate!
Foster kittens! Especially when they’re good, or bad in an excessive-cuddling way.
