Open threadiness activate! 😀
I think I’m coming down with a cold or the flu. Hopefully not swine flu… but it’s possible since someone in hubby’s office has it.
In other news, the cat that has been pooing in my bed and couch every chance he gets has been accident free for almost two weeks now. I think it was Feliway that sealed the deal. It’s expensive, but I put a diffuser on each side of the house in rooms that Time (our pooing cat) likes to spend time in… and he’s a new cat. He used to be a biter. He no longer bites! He hasn’t bit since I got the Feliway!! 😀 Plus, no accidents, which is even better. Normally, Timey will only interact with me or the cats and generally ignores hubby. My theory is that he’s been afraid of men. With the Feliway, he’s been interacting with hubby more. He’s not sitting with him or snuggling him, but he’s doing more “drive by” head butts and playing with hubby more. Now he sits by hubby on the floor and just stares at him… it’s pretty funny. So, I sorta sound like a Feliway commercial… but DANG!! I am impressed with the results for our lil Timey.
On the other hand, Feliway did not stop the drama between two of our other cats. Howard hates Abilene and will attack her any chance he gets. This hasn’t changed… but at least I’m not cleaning up accidents every few hours. 😉
Comments may be approved slowly today. Coming down with something has me VERY SLEEPY… I’m hoping to sleep some of this off…

Just checking in — I’m hanging in there, with lots of support, through a pretty big life change that I’m not entirely ready to talk about (because it’s messy and personal and argh-y).
I’m also hungry and having a tough time finding the right times to eat and drink and, come to think of it, breathe and use the bathroom and sleep.
Busy times. Sometimes even fun, though.
Hugs hugs hugs hugs hugs!!! My thoughts are with you. I’m also wishing you good self-care and lots of self-love.
My one cat started bullying the other pretty fiercely, to the point where the bullied cat was afraid to even leave the bed to use the litter box. I tried everything from squirt guns on up, but what worked was giving him “time out”. If he attacked her, he got scruffed and locked in the bathroom for ten to twenty minutes. Now I can almost watch him battle with his better nature. He watches her, looks at me, makes as if to pounce, looks at me again, relaxes slightly, looks at her again, trembles with the urge to attack…sometimes temptation still wins but usually he’ll let her go about her business.
I had an interview at Macy’s yesterday, and I got the job! The interview went really well; I was interviewed by the human resources manager, and I could tell she really liked me right from the beginning. The interview was only 20 minutes long, and at the end I was offered a position! I start on November 2nd. I’m so excited because getting this job means I can stay here in MO and go back to seminary in January! 🙂
Whoooo hooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!! I am so happy for you, Charlotte!! 😀
More cat related blabber…
Today I drove my little cat stalker in the car until she fell asleep in a bid to get her to leave me alone for at least a few hours…. otherwise she attaches herself to me like a cute lil fur-leech.
It totally worked. I had a half a day with some space from my lil stalker-girl. It did take 40 minutes for her to get excited enough to get sleepy, but it was worth it to have a few hours by myself. Agh. Cats!
I have been overcome by fumes. My daughter asked if I would give her a manicure. In her exuberance she waived around my OPI bottle of Hot Havana only to let it fly to the ground.
I cleaned the polish off the tile with polish remover and not I think I have lost my sense of smell.
Congrats Charlotte. I worked several holiday seasons in retail and I mostly liked it.
Thanks! This will be my second time working retail during the holiday season; I worked at Best Buy during the 2007 holiday season. It was pretty crazy there (and they ran me ragged), but now I know what I’m getting into, and I know I can handle it.
