I’m going to open it up to our readers today. We’ve been running pretty slow of late so I think we might need a place to ramble, rant or just chat.
Have at it…just be mindful of the rules and be respectful of others.

Michelle Obama says that the economic health and security of our nation is at stake if we don`t eliminate childhood obesity. Really! Those very words! If kids are fat, America is doomed.
I want to hold all fat children in my arms and tell them that they`re just fine — tell them that the country has gone stupid because the economy sucks and the environment sucks and politics suck and wars suck and nobody can fix anything so they`ve decided to pick on fat people to make themselves feel better, and because kids can`t fight back they`re particularly picking on kids, but it will eventually blow over and in the meantime they have to just remind themselves over and over and over again that it`s just stupid people being stupid and it can not and will not change their fundamental awesomeness.
Some good discussion going on at Shakesville on it:

Ditto what Trabbs said!
In addition, according to the latest research the fat kids are going to live the longest and be the healthiest anyway.
I love what you said here, Trabb’s Boy. The last thing our government needs to do is pick on fat kids…they have plenty of bullies to do that.
For an educated woman, Michelle Obama does and says some really stupid stuff. Kinda eats away at her credibility as an “educated person.”
I didn’t fit in well at Shakesville…guess I’m a bit too conservative for them; it seemed as if I was the only one on there who doesn’t think that Obama poops rainbows and farts unicorns…
Thanks, Audrey! Obama is actually considered way too conservative at Shakesville, so you might not find it to your liking much, politically. Most of the time it’s not so much political as anti-oppression, and it’s really structured to be a place where people who have been victimized (however they define that) can talk without being told they’re being unreasonable to hurt. It’s not a space I need, since other than being female I tend to fall into the oppressor category, but I learn a lot just by listening.
Anyway, thanks for the laugh. I feel pretty sorry for Obama if he’s farting unicorns. That’s gotta hurt!
It was early on in his presidency – when the Democrats weren’t disappointed yet – that I stopped by.
Initially, I was amazed at the level of support for people who have been victimized, whether due to intolerance of sexual orientation, race, size, or even horrible things like rape.
The political posts angered me mightily. I think that it is unrealistic to put a face up there – Obama – and make him the face of hope. Really? A politician? And a very inexperienced one at that.
I’m glad I made you laugh!
Remember, I’ll be here all week. Try the veal, and don’t forget to tip your waitress! 😀
