I’m sitting in my living room tonight and an advertisement comes on for Direct TV. Can someone tell me why a scantily clothed woman is needed to advertise for a cable company? Yes, yes, I get it. Sex sells. Girate to the music. Wear next to nothing. Beautiful women. Handsome men.
Where does that leave us “average” people? For some of us, it leads us to believe we are less than or unacceptable. It sometimes has us doubting our self-worth. Some of us may even aspire to be like the people we see on these advertisements. And some will go to great lengths to fit in…trying to lose weight, over-exercising, purging and never seeing ourselves as “just right”…always searching for something better.
We are all beautiful people! We are blondes, brunetts, red heads, tall, short, lean, full figured, loud, shy, petite, it doesn’t matter. We are all unique and beautiful in our own way. Don’t ever let anyone tell you any differently!
Instead of trying to aspire to be as thin and sexy as the women on TV, aspire to be the best you that you can be right now at this very moment. Love yourself as you are.
